random thought 20 (disney)

Just came from hong kong over the weekend for some good RnR. For some strange reason, everything seemed to go according to plan and even the weather was cooperative. But the real reason i went was to take my sisters to Disney Land.

Disney Land hong kong was great. Its pretty much the same as in the US except you have to get over the fact that some of the characters are asian now instead of white. Which is kinda weird and then of course there's the chinese talk everywhere. As it turns out, the magic of disney land, as they say it, really isn't in the rides, which were quite boring of course compared to six flags. But the whole experience itself. From the transportation, to the environment, to the characters and the accommodations.

Its funny, i realized this when i started to assess how much everything would really cost on a daily basis. The thousands of employees, a 4 star hotel and a 5 star hotel, the decorations, the props, the castle, the daily parade and the daily fireworks, not to mention their customized train from the city and buses. It got me thinking, that they seem to give the impression that money doesn't exist, and that everything just might be possible.

What impact does this impression make on children especially as they grow up? Do they become less conscious of money and become extravagant, trying to become their own princesses and living up to their fantasies, or will they grow up bitter and disappointed with the world around them as they realize that money truly is a part of the world. There is also the possibility of living the fantasy of what “true love” is and the idea of their “prince charming”. And all this being said, why is it that girls tend to adapt these fantasies more than the boys do, even at the same ages??? An even greater question in my mind is, would fantasy and all these fairy tales, even have any “escape the world value” to anyone, if they were never introduced to the thoughts as children? And on a similar note, why would people even entertain the thought of fantasy in the first place?
